Dr. Gary Bucher has been practicing medicine for more than 15 years. Dr. Bucher provided medical care for HIV/AIDS patients during his residency at the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. After residency, he was on faculty at Louisiana State University as Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Section of HIV. He provided primary care at HIV Outpatient Clinic at Charity Hospital. Dr. Bucher worked at Howard Brown Health Center in Chicago and helped start their HIV primary care clinic. As medical director of Kronos Optimal Health Company in Phoenix, AZ, he developed health and wellness and preventive medicine programs for patients in the Optimal Health Center. He also developed and implemented on-site wellness programs at small businesses and corporations. His special interests include preventive medicine, heart disease, cholesterol problems, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, weight issues, nutrition and exercise.
Dr. Bucher has authored and co-authored numerous research articles and abstracts and presented research at both the national and international levels. He is board certified in Family Medicine and holds fellowship degrees from the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Nutrition. Dr. Bucher is currently a member of medical societies and organizations at the local, state and national levels.
Dr. Bucher serves on the Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) board of directors in Chicago. Dr. Bucher is the Medical Director of Radius Health, his medical practice offering personalized men’s healthcare for straight and gay men and primary care services for individuals infected with HIV.
